Jim and I took the Living in the Black workshop in March @ Modesto Jr. College. We were infused with HOPE!! After the workshop, I thought Jim would take the program and run with it, but instead the book was put up in the bookcase and left there until I got it down about 10 days ago.
I am devouring the book, and striving to learn how to utilize the software program. IF I’ve entered everything correctly into the software program, we will be free from our consumer debt in about 15 months. I PAID OFF my CitiBank MasterCard, which carried an interest rate of 28.99%, this past Friday. This was after being terminated from a new job I’d had for about a month on Thursday evening. The termination was a BIG shocker, but paying off CitiBank was very liberating!!! My next card payoff will be Sears by the end of Aug. (or sooner). We will also have a couple of medical bills paid off in July as well as a debt to our electrician. I am soooo excited about this program. I just HOPE I can inspire my husband to join me 100% in living on a CASH ONLY basis. We are 60 &61, and I wish we’d found this program years ago. We have almost NO retirement savings, and NO pension plans to speak of. We are RNs & have done a great job of taking care of others, but a lousy job of taking care of ourselves. I think I will recommend to Jim that we take a “refresher” class in the fall @ MJC. I’ve spent some time this evening looking at the getdebtfree website & am inspired to purchase a few additional materials for my benefit. I’m glad to know that IF I get stuck trying to figure anything out in this program, you or someone else familiar with these principles are only a phone call away.
